Responsible investments
We have thought about responsibility, whatever your savings choice
Responsible investments
Responsible investments and social responsibility are topics that fill a lot of space in our minds and perhaps also resonate with you. We carefully consider what we will and won’t invest in, and we work diligently with active ownership of the companies we invest in. In this way, we believe that we can contribute to a more sustainable world.
Policy and guidelines on responsible investments and active ownership
We believe that high long-term returns can be combined with respect for the environment and society, based on international principles of corporate responsibility.
Our work with sustainable investments takes place in accordance with our strategic goals on sustainability and our policies and guidelines for responsible investment and active ownership
Climate and the green transition
In addition to climate change being an increasing societal problem, it also poses an economic risk to our investments. Therefore, we have set a goal to have a target-neutral investment portfolio by 205, in line with the Paris Agreement.
At Velliv, we believe that we best contribute to solutions in collaboration with other investors. This includes a committed partnership with the Paris Agreement Investment Initiative. Additionally, we’ve joined the Science Based Targets initiative, a globally recognized standard that ensures scientific validation of the participating companies’ CO2e reduction targets in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement. Velliv was the first commercial pension company in Denmark to have our SBTi targets approved.

Biodiversity
Many companies rely on natural resources such as crops, timber and soil, whose quality and availability depend on healthy and diverse biodiversity. At the same time, companies themselves impact biodiversity through their operations. This creates a complex relationship between the consumption of natural resources and their degradation.
As investors in these companies, we are exposed to the same risks. We aim to contribute to protecting and restoring nature's diversity through our investments. We joined the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge (FfB Pledge) in 2022 and identified areas of action to reduce the risk of biodiversity loss for our investments in 2024.

Active ownership
Active ownership involves various forms of attempts to influence companies to change their behaviour or develop in a more sustainable manner. As an investor and active owner, we continuously engage in dialogue with companies about their actions. Additionally, we vote at their general meetings to express our opinions and influence companies. In this way, we ensure that your interests are best taken care of.

You can make a difference with your pension
As a customer of Velliv, you can let your pension savings make a positive difference. You can choose VækstPension Aftryk, where you have access to a selection of investments that each contribute to solutions to some of the challenges facing our planet.
Both VækstPension Aftryk og Aktiv have a special focus on sustainable bonds such as impact investments. They create tangible value for society and the environment – for example, by supporting biodiversity in New Zealand, ensuring the population of the black rhinoceros in South Africa or providing clean drinking water to two million children in Vietnam.
Special partnership with the World Bank
We have established a strong relationship with the World Bank, achieving the status of special partner. This allows Velliv to play a role in shaping investments before they are introduced to the market.
Sustainability-related information
The EU has established regulations on how Velliv and other financial companies must document and disclose their work on sustainability in financial products, including pension solutions. The set of rules is part of EU Green Deal and aimed to help ensure the green transition of the European Union and set the frame for common definitions of sustainability with financial companies.
